Works well in a team, but not much of a help when you have to find the solution to a problem on your own.
I have found Nick Souter's Ideascape a great tool. It provides a process for creativity while allows the mind to go wild.

My co worker touts a method for breaking through the new idea resistance. It is very present in my work place. I myself have used in the sniper environment and have some success. She calls it the potting soil method. You give air a little of your great idea to the team. Put a little potting soil on it and let it sit a little bit so the nutrients can come down to the roots. Then come back later and air a little more of the young idea, like watering the plant and letting it sit some more. I think by the time you reveal the whole idea in this method is people have gotten a chance to think about the change. They get used to it and say that "yes I have heard about this before" so it is not foreign. What do you think?
